As a dad of a toddler let me address the hardest thing first - Sleep well. That's not only hard for the child but for the parents as well and even if you do not have kids all together. But give it a shot. Everybody looks better well rested.
Drink enough, nurture your skin with moisturizer and don't panic about blemishes the day before the session. That's the whole point of Photoshop. Your chosen favorites will be retouched to highest standards. ➔

Hair
➔ Our first class makeup artist can do your hair but you can of course also do it yourself.
Imagine you have an important meeting or a lovey date. It's supposed to look chic but you have to feel comfortable first. Don't get a new haircut on the same day.
Bring your personal styling products. If you have long hair, don't tie it together on the day to avoid unnatural waves when shooting with your hair open. Just bring them. Should your hair tend to look very wild or fuzzy after washing it, better wash it the day before.
Gentleman can bring their clipper or razor to shave mid-session. If you vary your facial hair regularly, it should reflect in the final output and with that your shots stay up to date over time. ➔

Clothing
➔ I ask everybody to bring at least 5, better 10 different outfits. Ideally everything is ironed*. That can make an enormous difference.
A larger selection is always beneficial. Bring bright and dark options, colorful and simpler, casual as well as elegant and businessy. Always have in mind what can be combined. Think of jackets, wests and multible layers.
If you booked the Portrait Session also bring pieces like pant, belts, hats - dresses, skirts, shawls and accessories. Your favorite piece should not be missing and don't bring what you don't love and "never wear anyway."
If you feel great with what you're wearing, you will shoot well in it. But it's also the other way around. ➔

For all female clients I recommend booking my experienced makeup artist and hair stylist Rebecca. "Beccy" will take amazing care of you. Due to our long working relationship, she knows all the dos and don'ts of commercial headshot and portrait photography.
In case you want to do your own makeup, please note that day makeup and makeup for a high-resolution, high-end camera are two fundamentally different things. You will receive essential information from me about what to consider here and what to avoid in a personal conversation before our session.
Please let me emphasize that a professional makeup artist from the field is an investment that pays off on the day of the session. You will save time and nerves and can concentrate entirely on yourself and your well-being. Both influence the photo session so positively that the results are lifted from the level "good" to "extraordinary".
